Rajinikanth opens up about public scrutiny and public speaking
Rajinikanth began his speech with a joke about the kind of attention he has attracted for his public statements. “Whenever I’m invited to speak, I feel a little hesitant,” he says with a smile. “If I don’t speak, people ask why I’m silent. How Dharman found its director after many changes
Rajinikanth also revealed that Ashwath Marimuthu has become the fourth director associated with the project. “First, we planned the film with: KS Ravikumar. Later, Sundar C came on board, but that didn’t work out because of other commitments,” he explained. The actor then revealed that director Cibi Chakravarthi was attached to the film at one stage. “His story is about a nuclear scientist and includes shooting in places like Afghanistan and Russia. We felt it would be better to do that project later,” said Rajinikanth. The search for a new script finally led the team to Ashwath Marimuthu and his vision for ‘Dharman.’‘

Talking about the last option, Rajinikanth said that Kamal Haasan initially trusted the judgment of the team who did not want to hear the story. However, he insisted that Kamal listen to the narrative before making a decision. “After hearing it, he said the story was very good,” Rajinikanth recalled. The Superstar added that Ashwath now carries a huge responsibility but has the support of the entire team. “I really liked his movie Dragon. I have full faith in him and in this project,” he said. With Rajinikanth’s endorsement and the backing of Kamal Haasan’s production house, ‘Dharman’ has emerged as one of the most anticipated films in Tamil cinema.
