The resolution celebrates his contribution in taking Punjabi music worldwide and bringing South Asian culture into mainstream American entertainment.

Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to share a video from the special occasion, where he can be seen receiving the award. Sharing the clip, the singer wrote, “Diljit Dosanjh day in LA,” adding, “The Los Angeles City Council has officially adopted a civic resolution declaring January 6, 2027, as ‘Diljit Dosanjh Day’.”In the same post, he further wrote, “Introduced by Councilor Monica Rodriguez, the resolution honors the Indian-born singer, actor, and producer for his significant contribution to the globalization of Punjabi music and promoting South Asian representation in mainstream American culture.”The video shows Diljit receiving a framed resolution from a woman in a private gathering.
