Farah Khan looks back at one of the most talked about controversies involving his brother Sajid Khan during a frank conversation with: Shekhar Sumanwhich explains why he instinctively defended her.Recalling the widely talked about public feud between Sajid Khan and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker at an awards show, Shekhar asks Farah if Sajid is right or wrong.
“Sajid is always my responsibility”
Before answering directly, Farah explained why he immediately stood up to his younger brother.“I have a son that I have been looking after since I was five years old. Sajid has always been my responsibility,” she said, explaining that protecting him came naturally to her.Responding to the incident itself, Farah clarified that her relationship with Ashutosh Gowariker has always remained cordial.“I feel for Ashutosh and we are very old friends. My only thing is that if he is not feeling well, he can just go backstage and talk to Sajid. We were shocked because Ashu is a very close friend of ours. And he’s still there.”
Grilling should have limits
The conversation then turned to the growing culture of celebrity roasting. Farah admits he enjoys humor but believes there is a limit.“I love roasting, but it’s not for our country. It’s not part of our culture. Our culture is not about inviting guests and insulting them.”He added that while he grilled people on his own show, he made sure it was done respectfully.“I notice you roast people with such poise that even the person you’re roasting enjoys it, and so does the audience,” Shekhar told him.Farah agrees that humor works best when it remains benign and harmless.
An amusing confession from: Main Hoon Na:
At the end of the episode, Farah makes a funny confession involving the producer Sajid NadiadwalaSubhaan’s son during the shooting of Main Hoon Na. He disclosed that the baby accidentally fell on the bed during the shooting, but instead of notifying his parents immediately, he was quickly placed back on the bed and the shot was completed.“I never told his mother or father.
