England’s innings got off to a low start in the second T20I against India at Old Trafford on Saturday, as both their openers were dismissed for ducks for the first time in a T20I innings.Chasing 191, England were rocked in the first innings by left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who removed Phil Salt and Jos Buttler without allowing any strikes.Salt fell on the first ball of the innings after a short delivery outside off stump to wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan. The extra bounce surprised the opener, who was caught behind.Arshdeep struck four balls later as Buttler played his timing well as he found Varun Chakaravarthy at mid-wicket. Buttler looks to have hit the ball well but he chooses the fielder, leaving England two down and one run on the board.This is the first time in England’s T20I history that both openers have been dismissed for ducks in the same innings.Earlier, India posted 190 for seven when asked to bat.The match also marked the international debut of 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who became India’s youngest cricketer at the age of 15 years and 99 days, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s previous record.The youngster scored 14 off 10 balls, including two sixes, before being dismissed.Abhishek Sharma gave India a quick start with 43 off 24. Ishan Kishan made 49 off 40 balls, while captain Shreyas Iyer scored 37 off 22. Kishan and Iyer added 65 runs in the third innings to keep the innings moving.Tilak Varma finished unbeaten on 24 off 11 balls to help India reach the tournament.In England, left-hander Sam Curran is the most successful bowler with three figures on 33.
