Former Indian wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik He has heaped praise on young pacer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, terming him a rare talent who can rewrite T20 records, and urging the youngster not to panic in the middle of growing up.The 15-year-old batsman has emerged as one of India’s brightest prospects after his impressive rise at home and in the IPL. Set to make his debut for India in the ongoing T20I series against England, expectations around Sooryavanshi continue to rise.Speaking about the youngster’s potential to Sky Sports, Karthik highlighted Sooryavanshi’s fearless attitude and ability to comfortably win against any opposition.“I think it’s just his skill at batting all over the ground and the tempo at which he bats. The fact that he’s not afraid of anyone who opposes him. That fearlessness is a special quality,” said Karthik.Acknowledging the youngster’s immense talent, Karthik reminded everyone that every young footballer goes through tough phases, both on and off the field.“Like everyone in life, I’m sure he will face difficulties with his beatings and things that happen away from cricket. He has to learn how to deal with those situations. At the moment, everything looks good, but difficult days will come,” he added. When asked how far Sooryavanshi can go in the game, Karthik left little room for doubt.“The cloud is the limit. I really feel he can be a T20 winner, and I don’t see why he can’t break more records in the format,” he said.“My one piece of advice would be to learn to deal with the noise that doesn’t go well because that will be his biggest problem today,” said Karthik.
India will face England in Manchester
India and England will look to end the deadlock when they meet in the second T20I at Old Trafford, Manchester, after the opening match in Durham was washed out by rain. Even if it didn’t happen, India would have been confident of posting a commanding 189/7, powered by half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma and captain Shreyas Iyer.
