Enola Holmes and Lord Tewkesbury captured the attention of fans in their new installment of the famous franchise, sending viewers back to the 19th century with their edge-of-the-seat drama. As the plot unfolds in Malta under the shadow of colonialism, the emergency is set in motion with the abduction of Sherlock Holmes. Based on pieces of history, writer Jack Thorne emphasized that the fictionalization of the story played an important role in the making of the film.

Enola Holmes 3:‘ and the process behind the creation

Channeling her inner detective, Enola Holmes discovers the word ‘Khost’ while finding her brother in a hotel room, and links it to the ‘Battle of Khost,’ which took place during the 1800s Anglo-Afghan Wars. However, unlike ‘Enola Holmes 2,’ which shares the true story of the female game, the third one is based on real events and has been fictionalized. “We did the story because we felt that if we were dealing with the actual theft of national treasures by the British army, then we could do harm, and we don’t want to do that,” Thorne said in conversation with Tudum.“The Match Girls Society is happy that we’re promoting them and that it’s leading to people watching them,” Thorne explained about the previous episode, adding that she wanted the same colonial stories but with a different approach. The historical impact is not just for the plots, but is deeply rooted in the characters and cast. Watson is an Indian. “My father was also a soldier, a loyal servant of the British Raj. He loved the crown, believed in its right to rule India, and I thought he was right to do it. I was young, and he was my hero,” said Himesh Patel’s character in the film.
