Veteran actress Lissy is back in acting after a 38-year hiatus by reuniting with filmmaker Priyadarshan for a new advertisement. The comeback marks his first project under Priyadarshan’s direction since their 1988 classic ‘Chithram’. The reunion with Priyadarshan also evoked nostalgia among film buffs who remembered the duo’s successful collaboration from the 1980s.Along with Lissy, it also featured their daughter, an actress Kalyani Priyadarshan. The mother-daughter duo is sharing screen space for the first time in a project directed by Priyadarshan. Veteran actor Prabhu Ganesan is also part of the advertisement.
Lissy shares an emotional note about Priyadarshan’s reunion
Lissy announced the project by posting photos from the shoot on Instagram.He wrote, “It’s been 38 years since I last worked with Priyettan, and I’m glad to be working with him again! Our last film together was the iconic ‘Chitram.’ And the best part, I played the reel mother of my real daughter Kalyani Priyadarsan in this ad film.
The actress recalled nostalgic moments from the shooting
Lissy also shared how comfortable she felt while facing the camera again. He credits Priyadarshan for making the experience effortless and recalls a light hearted exchange that happened during the shoot.He wrote, “When Abhilash, Priyettan’s executive director, asked if I was nervous on set after so many years, I said no, because Priyettan knows me inside out, from my best to my worst facial angles to make me look my best. The entire shoot was a picnic.”Expressing gratitude, Lissy thanked the brand for giving her the opportunity to reunite with Priyadarshan and Kalyani through the ad. He also reached out to his fans for their continued encouragement.He wrote, “I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity to work with Priyettan and Kalyani. Earlier this year, reports claimed that the former couple had decided to reunite years after their split.Priyadarshan later confirmed the reports in an interview with Mid-Day. He revealed that they chose to be together again without getting married.He said, “Except for the marriage certificate, we live the same life together.”
