Samantha once opened up about family planning
As stated by SCREEN, years before her current wedding, Samantha spoke frankly about her hope to start a family. In 2018, shortly after the actor tied the knot Naga Chaitanyashe was repeatedly asked about motherhood and future plans. During one such interaction, the actress revealed that she and Chaitanya have discussed a timeline for welcoming their first child.Responding to the topic with a laugh, Samantha said, “The date has been fixed! Like, like that will happen as per the date we fixed! But Chay (Naga Chaitanya) seems sure it will happen on the fixed date!” She added, “But we’ve definitely set a timeline for when we want to have a baby.”During the same conversation, Samantha explained that having a child would change her professional priorities. The actress admitted that she envisioned devoting herself completely to motherhood in the first years of her child’s life.“If I have a child, that child will be my universe. I have the greatest respect for working mothers. My childhood is not very rosy. For all adults, who do not have a very rosy childhood, the first thing they will tell you is that they want to give their child everything they don’t have. That’s something that stuck with me. So I think the first few years after I had a child, I was nowhere. That child will be everything to me,” she said.
‘Shaakuntalam ‘ was meant to be his last film before a vacation
A few years ago, during the promotions of ‘Shaakuntalam’, producer Neelima Guna recalled a conversation that shed more light on Samantha’s plans at the time. According to him, the actress requested that the shooting be completed within a certain schedule as she intends to focus on family life afterwards.Neelima revealed, “Last year itself, when my father director Gunasekhar garu and I approached Samantha for Shaakuntalam, he loved the story and was very excited about it, but he told us that if he accepts the role, the shooting should be completed by July/August this year at the latest. He informed me that he is planning to start a family and he wants to be his mother and this is his priority.The producer further explained that Samantha initially envisioned ‘Shaakuntalam’ as her last project before taking a break from acting. The team has reportedly adjusted their schedules to accommodate his plans.“When he heard that, he was very happy and got on board. He told me that this is his last film and after this, he wants to take a long break and have children, plan his family. Also through the schedules, we never took a break because we wanted to accommodate this request from his side,” added Neelima.However, life reveals something different. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya separated in 2021 after four years of marriage. Chaitanya later married an actress Sobhita Dhulipalawhile Samantha found love again and married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in December 2025.
