Chettan shared his thoughts while promoting the film in Mumbai with the actress Kajal Aggarwal. He explained that the film is meant to create awareness while presenting an entertaining narrative rooted in a socially relevant topic.

Talking to IANS about the inspiration behind the project, Chettan emphasized that food safety is something that concerns every household. He said the film examines why people should be more aware of what ends up on their dining tables. He said, “We are working hard to put food on our plates. If there is poison on your plate, then your hard work is in vain, and it puts your children, and everyone close to them at a serious risk. Therefore, in this film, everyone is told, what is important, what is there and what needs to be done. This film is for every family. This is for every Indian.” The director suggests that the film goes beyond entertainment by encouraging the audience to reflect on an issue that has far-reaching implications.

Chettan also shared what he hopes the audience will get after watching the film. According to him, the story presents the seriousness of food-related issues while also offering possible solutions. He added, “So, after watching this film, you should pay attention to everything, you can’t sleep thinking about the severity of the situation in society when it comes to our food. You will be shocked. However, the film also tells you how to ensure safety”. The filmmaker believes the narrative will inspire viewers to become more conscious of the quality of food and the choices they make in their daily lives.

India Story stars Shreyas Talpade in the lead alongside Kajal Aggarwal, who plays Advocate Archana. His character joins forces with an ordinary citizen in a legal battle against influential corporations accused of endangering public health. Blending courtroom drama with an investigative story, the film examines issues such as pesticide abuse, food poisoning and their wider impact on society.‘The India Story’ is gearing up for a theatrical release on July 24, 2026.
