India faced an early challenge in the first T20I against England after Ishan Kishan ended up in a big mix-up with fellow opener Abhishek Sharma. The dismissal came just two balls into Kishan’s innings, adding to his misery after being dismissed again in India’s previous T20I against Ireland. Chasing a quick single, Kishan took off after rolling the ball to the umpire, but Abhishek, seeing Harry Brook grab the ball, decided to run away.The decision was sent to the third umpire, and when the replay was analysed, Abhishek’s frustration was palpable. During their brief conversation, Abhishek was heard asking Kishan, “Tu pahuncha ki nahin pahuncha, kya kar raha hai yaar Ishan? He shared an important partnership of 82 with the pilot Shreyas Iyerwho set up the innings with 68 from 47 deliveries. Abhishek also became the fastest player in T20I history to complete 100 runs in terms of balls faced.A late score of 42 off 21 balls from Shivam Dube helped India post 189/7 in 20 overs, while England paceman Saqib Mahmood impressed with figures of 3/33. However, incessant rain, which started towards the Indian end, prevented England from starting the chase. Due to poor conditions, the match was abandoned, and the teams will travel to Manchester for the second T20 match on July 4.
