Huma Qureshi treads familiar territory with a fresh perspective as he recreates one of Bollywood’s most beloved dance numbers. Ahead of the theatrical release of ‘Baby Do Die Do’, the makers have dropped a revamped version of ‘Ishq Kameena’, giving the iconic song a contemporary makeover. While the original remains a fan favorite, the team insists this version is an homage rather than a copy.

Huma Qureshi explains why the team avoided copying the original

The recreated track features Huma Qureshi alongside Rachit Singh, showcasing their energetic chemistry through stylish visuals, glamorous costumes, and high-voltage dance sequences. The original ‘Ishq Kameena’, from the 2002 film ‘Shakti. The Power’, is shown Shah Rukh Khan and: Aishwarya Rai Bachchanwith vocals by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik.Opening up about revisiting the beloved number, Huma shared with Mid-Day, “When this song came to us, we were very excited to bring it back. Ishq Kameena is huge, almost everyone has danced to it at some point, and that comes with a lot of responsibility. We were nervous, really nervous.

Rachit Singh called the recreated track a dream opportunity

For Rachit Singh, the song marked a significant milestone in his career as his first commercial Hindi promotional track. Reflecting on the experience, he expressed gratitude for sharing the screen with Huma and admitted that the opportunity still feels surreal.He said, “Every day I have to push myself that this happened. Big shoes to fill, fingers crossed. But I’m so glad I did it with Huma. The energy between us felt natural; I think that comes across the screen. “Adding another layer of excitement, the recreated version is choreographed by a famous filmmaker and choreographer. Remo D’Souzawhose signature style gives the classic song a modern visual identity while preserving its lively spirit.

Inside the world of ‘Baby Do Die Do’

Directed by Nachiket Samant and produced by: Saqib Saleem under the banner of Saleem Siblings in association with Pune 04 Film, ‘Baby Do Die Do’ is set to hit the theaters on July 3. Set against the dark and dangerous backdrop of the underworld, the film promises an intense story driven by revenge, betrayal, and hidden secrets.Apart from Huma Qureshi and Rachit Singh, the thriller also stars Sikandar Kher, Chunky Panday, Marudha Shekhawat, Vidya Malvade, Arun Kushwah, Himanshu Malik, and others in important roles.
