While speaking on the documentary ‘Baahubali – The Torchbearer,’ Prabhas said that the movie completely changed the scope of his work, making every future project very important for him. He describes the period as one of the most difficult phases of his professional journey.
Prabhas says that ‘Baahubali’ success has kept him awake for years
Recalling the pressure of choosing his next film, Prabhas said, “I couldn’t sleep properly for two or three years after ‘Baahubali.’ The level of responsibility in each department suddenly increased a thousandfold. Those were the most shocking years of my life after ‘Baahubali’.” He explained that the team explored many ideas before finalizing his next projects. “We are thinking about what comes next. Should it be another grand visual film like ‘Baahubali’ or something completely different? We are talking about screenplay-driven stories, a love story, and even dialogues Prashant Neel: and: Ashwin” he revealed.
‘Baahubali’ opened the doors to bigger films and bigger budgets
Prabhas also credits ‘Baahubali’ for changing the financial landscape of his career. He pointed out that Saaho collected around Rs 26 crore in North India on its opening day, something he believes happened only because of the goodwill generated by ‘Baahubali.’ The actor said the blockbuster made it possible to mount high-budget films like ‘Saaho,’ ‘Radhe Shyam,’ ‘Salaar,’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’ Before ‘Baahubali,’ he explained, most of his films were made on budgets between Rs 20 crore and Rs 40 crore.

Looking back, Prabhas said that stress eventually led to bigger opportunities that defined the next phase of his career. He described Baahubali as the foundation that made ambitious films like ‘Salaar’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ possible.
