Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has officially entered a new phase in his personal life. On Sunday, the actor tied the knot with his longtime partner Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony held at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. Instead of a lavish celebration, the couple opted for a private registration ceremony attended only by close family members and a few friends.
A 13-year age difference between the newlyweds
Aamir Khan, born on March 14, 1965, is 61 years old, while Gauri Spratt, whose birthday falls on August 21, 1978, is 47. The couple has a 13-year age gap. Their relationship, however, is built on a connection that goes back decades rather than a recent acquaintance.Aamir and Gauri first crossed paths almost 25 years ago, but romance wasn’t part of the equation back then. Their lives took different directions until fate brought them back in 2024 through Aamir’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan, in Bengaluru. After their engagement, the two spent about a year in a long-distance relationship before making things official. Aamir finally introduced Gauri to the world during his 60th birthday celebrations in March 2025, referring to her as his “mate” and ending months of speculation surrounding his personal life.Soon after that, Gauri moved from Bengaluru to Mumbai with her son from her previous marriage. Around the same time, he left his role at a hair care company and joined Aamir Khan Productions, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
An intimate wedding celebration
The wedding ceremony was deliberately kept away from the spotlight. Aamir’s children, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan, from his first marriage to Reena Dutta, were among the family members who attended the occasion. The guest list also included filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, who collaborated with Aamir on ‘Lagaan’, along with actor Elli AvrRam, making it an intimate celebration rather than a star-studded affair.
Aamir Khan’s marriages over the years
This is Aamir Khan’s third marriage. She was previously married to filmmaker Kiran Rao, whom she met while working on the Oscar-nominated film ‘Lagaan’, where she served as an assistant director. The two got married in December 2005 and later welcomed their son, Azad Rao Khan, through surrogacy in 2011.Although Aamir and Kiran announced their separation in 2021 after 16 years of marriage, they have always maintained a good relationship. Over the years, the two have described each other as close friends and continue to co-parent Azad while also working together professionally on various projects.
