After a delay of more than three years, Diljit Dosanjh‘Satluj’ has finally made it to the OTT streaming platform. After its release, the popular singer and actor became emotional and reflected on the hurdles they faced to get the film approved and released. ‘Satluj’, earlier titled ‘Punjab ’95’, tells the story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

Diljit Dosanjh: talking about ‘Satluj’ release

On his Instagram account, the actor and singer talked about the release of ‘Satluj’ and paid his respects to activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. He shared a clip from the film itself and wrote an emotional caption, sharing, “Finally After 4 Years of Struggle.. SATLUJ #Panjab95 Released by @zee5 Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra Ji Nu Lakh Lakh Parnaam.”He further wrote, “Mai Aksar Team Nu Pushda Rehnda C Ke Eh Film Kadey v Ni Augi? Asi Apni Kahani Nhi Das Sakde? Khalra Saab Di Avaaz Nu 1995 ch v Dabaa Dita Geya.. Te Aj V Ona Di Avaaz Nu Dabaa Rahe Aa.. c Always Kithey B Khadey An? Dosanjh actively conducts live sessions on his account to regularly communicate and connect with fans. During one of his recent live interviews, he shared that the film was not cut and that he was willing to back out of the film and not promote it if major scenes were cut. About ‘Satluj’

The story of ‘Satluj’ is based on the real life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Along with Dosanjh, who plays the lead role, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Suvinder Vicky, Jagjeet Sandhu and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan. It is based on how Jaswant Singh Khalra was involved in investigating what happened to around 25,000 people who were marked missing during the Punjab insurgency. He is on his way to reveal the truth behind the disappearances, their deaths, and the involvement of the judiciary, and he has made his information public. ‘Satluj’ is now streaming on Zee5.
