Govinda: one of the biggest stars of the 1990s, who enjoyed great popularity with his acting, comedy and dance performances. During the first interview, the actor recalled a strange incident involving one of his admirers, who reportedly joined his household staff just to stay close to him.Sharing the memory, Govinda revealed that he once again noticed a young woman standing outside his residence. Thinking she was looking for a job, he directed her to her mother, who took care of the household and supervised the household staff. Recalling the incident, Govinda told Bollywood Bubble, “He was from a rich family. One day I saw him standing outside my house. I asked him, ‘Do you want a job? Ask my mother, she is the one who looks after all the work at home.’ My mother gave her a job helping the house.”
Sunita Ahuja became suspicious
According to Govinda, the girl struggles with her responsibilities at home but shows a noticeable change in behavior whenever the actor comes home. His enthusiasm eventually caught the attention of his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who sensed something strange. Later Sunita decided to investigate the matter. Later he found out that the girl belonged to a rich family and took the job only because she was an ardent admirer of Govinda.Sharing the incident, Sunita said, “One day, he was talking on the phone. I took his phone. He was talking to his father and I came to know that he comes from a big family and his father has eight cars. But since he is a fan of Govinda, he just wanted to be with him.”
Why did the couple hide their marriage?
Govinda and Sunita chose to keep their marriage private during the early years of the actor’s career. Sunita explained that they believe that revealing the wedding soon may affect Govinda’s popularity among fans. He recalls, “At that time he was at the peak of his career. At that time, like when a hero gets married, the fan following kam ho jaati hai (fan following dwindles). Main room mein chup kar baithti thi (we are not revealed. I am hiding in a room). But when our daughter was born, we revealed it on her first birthday.” The couple got married in 1987 and later announced their marriage during the first birthday celebration of their daughter, Tina Ahuja.
Govinda’s recent work:
On the professional front, Govinda has largely stayed away from the big screen in recent years. His last major outing as a lead actor was the 2019 comedy-drama ‘Rangeela Raja’. Before that, he appeared in the 2018 comedy ‘FryDay’. Meanwhile, Sunita Ahuja is participating in ‘Lock Upp Season 2’, the show aired on July 27.
