With his formidable batting, Ishan scored 317 runs at the rate of 146, including the Player of the Match award against Pakistan in Colombo. He also finished as India’s second highest wicket-taker, behind Sanju Samson, in the tournament.Following Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan has now joined the elite club that includes Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav, becoming the fourth Indian batsman to reach the no. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings.

Both power-hitters will be in action again when India take on England in the five-match T20I series, starting in Durham, with both expected to play important roles for the visitors.Ishan made his T20I debut against England in Ahmedabad in 2021. In 47 innings, he scored 1,341 runs at an average of 29.15 and a strike rate of 146.87. His record includes one hundred and 10 fifties, with the highest T20I score of 103.
