actor: Kunal Kemmu: spoke openly about the deeply personal journey of raising his daughter Inaaya Naumi Kemmu with his wife Soha Ali Khana journey shaped by instinct, mutual respect, and a beautiful blend of two faiths. Kunal Kemmu shares that he parented by instinct, not public opinion
Kunal Kemmu, who has been married to Soha Ali Khan since January 2015, said the couple never let outside voices influence how they raised Inaaya, who turned nine this year. Kunal told IANS, “We are very instinctive. Luckily, I have a friend, partner and wife now who understand that I am an instinctive person and so is she. When it comes to parenting, we have little experience today. She (Inaaya) will be nine years old this year. But we do everything that instinctively feels right. “
Kunal Kemmu for not seeking validation from society
The actor acknowledges that their parenting choices haven’t always met with universal approval and that they’re totally fine with that. He said, “This is a journey that people like. But we don’t think about what people will think and who likes it or not. Some people are hurt by this journey, some people don’t like some things.“Kunal also emphasized that neither he nor Soha will try to project an image of ideal parenting for public approval. He added, “We have never done anything thinking, ‘Let’s do it because it looks better’ or because people will think in society that we are doing right or wrong. As a parent, he does what he thinks is right. I did what I thought was right.”
Kunal Kemmu talks about disagreements
Like any couple, Kunal and Soha have their differences in parenting, though she accounts for them with characteristic humor. He joked, “Sometimes there are things that I say should not be done, but as a parent, it is his right to do it. Similarly, there are many things where he tells me that the habits that I have broken seem bad.“
Kunal Kemmu opens up about celebrating two faiths under one roof
Soha Ali Khan comes from a Muslim background, while Kunal comes from a Hindu family. Instead of letting that be a point of complication, the couple turned it into one of Inaaya’s best gifts. From Eid and Christmas to Diwali and Mahashivratri, the family celebrates every festival with equal fervor and enthusiasm, ensuring that their daughter grows up embracing the richness of both traditions.
