Mumbai: In line with the rule changes implemented by Lord’s-based Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) recently, BCCI he has changed the way he plays for the 2026-2727 season, where at the end of the day it has to be completed even if a wicket falls at the end.According to a letter (TOI has a copy) of the matches to be played in the upcoming season, circulated by the BCCI to the government bodies, the BCCI said that according to the MCC rules, the final over of the day should be over regardless of the fall of the wicket. According to clause 12.5.2, “The last over of a day’s play shall now be completed even if a wicket falls at that time.”The MCC’s reason for the change states, “A major change in multi-day cricket. It prevents the fighting parties from sending new strikes during the day.” This situation, of course, affects the multi-day color (red ball).The BCCI’s 15-page document titled Summary of Changes to the Playing Conditions – 2026-27 – to the governing bodies, states, “The 2026 edition (4th edition of the 2017 Code of Laws) changes any applicable conditions, all gender language (he, she, he/she/him/him/her/him/her/changes being discussed in the BCCI), etc. toys.”The biggest change, brought about by a change in the MCC rules, is that a bowler who deliberately misses no front balls and does not drop deliberately is now disqualified from playing the ball for the entire match, not just the innings.The rule he wants to change in the game (41.8) is: “A bowler is stopped for front foot no ball is unplayable in the whole game.” As the MCC put it: “Penalties for front foot no ball apply throughout the game, not just the innings.”According to the amended rule, announcements and forfeits are not allowed in the finals of the game. The MCC’s view is, “This was only used for speculative purposes and it was seen as a negative impact on the game.”Other updates:– On one day, the head coach will be allowed to enter the field during drinks during ODs.– Stopping running without a false intention is not running on purpose. Batsmen can go back and stop running even after crossing.– The playing referees decide which hit will be checked later as a catch blocking.– The ball is ‘fixed’ if it is in the player’s hands or standing on the ground. A ball does not need to have a bowler or a keeper to be ‘Dead’. It gives an opportunity to the athletes.– Guide to leg side in ODI and T20 matches, for clarity.– All players must be inside the boundary when the ball is awarded. It establishes the concept that play takes place within the boundaries and closes the way for leg restraints.– The wicket keeper must be behind the wicket from the ‘instant of delivery’ instead of the ‘moment ball in play’. The keeper is no longer penalized for having gloves on during the run.– The umpires must prevent the use of illegal equipment and report. The amended law makes it clear that it is the responsibility of the actors not to repeatedly use the prohibited equipment.
