Nissan Tekton scores 5 stars in BNCAP crash tests ahead of global debut: Details

Ahead of its official debut in India, Nissan’s new Tekton has already achieved the highest five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The certification appeared on the BNCAP portal ahead of the SUV’s launch, putting its crash safety credentials in the spotlight even before Nissan revealed the model. The same listing also offers the first clear look at the Tekton’s exterior design, effectively unveiling the SUV ahead of schedule.

The Nissan Tekton scored 30.49 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). It secured 14.49 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and a total of 16 out of 16 in the Movable Side Deformable Barrier Test. In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the SUV received 45 points out of 49. It earned the maximum 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test and 12 out of 12 for the installation of the Child Restraint System (CRS), while it scored 9 out of 13 in the vehicle evaluation category. The BNCAP listing also revealed the exterior design of the Tekton ahead of its official unveiling.
