Maharashtra extends CAP registration deadline for engineering admissions: Check last date and key details here
The Maharashtra CET cell has extended the deadline to July 16, 2026, giving more time to engineering aspiring students to complete the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) registration. The decision was taken after resolving technical issues affecting retrieval of JEE Main percentile scores through DigiLocker. Candidates are urged to update or correct their applications before the revised deadline to ensure consideration on the merit list.

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) unit has extended the last date for online registration for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for engineering degree admissions 2026-27 to July 16, 2026. The extension comes after the authorities resolved a technical issue that prevented several candidates from getting their JEE Main percentile scores through DigiLocker while submitting their applications. The CAP registration process begins on July 2, 2026 and admissions will be based on the performance of the candidates in MHT-CET 2026 or JEE Main 2026.

Name mismatch in DigiLocker causes score retrieval to fail

According to CET Cell, the JEE Main percentile scores of candidates are retrieved directly from DigiLocker as per the instructions issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).However, some applicants faced technical difficulties as the names shown on their JEE Main scorecards did not exactly match the names recorded in their DigiLocker accounts. Therefore, the system cannot automatically fetch their JEE Main percentile scores during the online application process.CET Cell said it coordinated with the NTA to resolve the issue, enabling affected candidates to access and import their JEE Main scores through the CAP portal.

Candidates are advised to complete pending applications

Candidates who were previously unable to get their JEE Main percentile scores have been directed to log in to the CAP portal, retrieve their scores and complete the application process before the revised deadline. The authorities are also providing opportunities to applicants whose CAP applications have been confirmed but do not contain JEE Main percentile scores. These candidates can now unlock their applications, obtain missing scores and make required corrections before resubmitting.

Separate process for unlocking apps

CET Cell clarified that the procedure for unlocking the application will depend on the document verification mode chosen by the candidate.Applicants whose forms are verified through electronic review must submit an appeal request on the portal to unlock their application. Meanwhile, candidates whose documents have been verified through physical examination will need to visit the respective Facilitation Center (FC) or Scrutiny Center (SC) in person to request for unlocking of their application.

Merit list only includes complete applications

The CET team has urged all affected candidates to complete the application submission or correction process within the extended deadline. It warned that applications which remain incomplete after the stipulated date will not be considered while preparing merit lists for engineering admissions. Therefore, candidates are advised to verify that all required details, including applicable JEE Main percentile scores, have been successfully updated before the registration window closes on July 16, 2026.This is association Please refer to the official notification of MAH CET application deadline extension.
