Aditi Govitrikarwho is best known for his work in ‘De Dana Dan’ and ‘Paheli’, recently shared his thoughts on what the film industry is like these days. The star shared in her comments that women continue to be sidelined these days after a certain age. He even compared the situation with big screen and OTT projects, revealing how he feels the latter gives more freedom than films for certain roles.

While talking to Mid Day, the actress shared that she feels Bollywood still judges women after their age. He stated, “On the big screen, a hero is always at a certain age. Once that age is passed, unlike heroes, who can continue to play leading roles even in their 60s, women are often offered the roles of a mother or an aunt.”However, responding to the changing paradigms of cinema and storytelling, he further commented that the rise of OTT has changed this scenario. “In OTT, times are changing”, he added, further commenting on how microdramas are a popular online concept that will only grow in the future. “I think the microdrama is here to stay because it is very short, keeping the phone screen in mind. And because everyone has phones, the penetration is higher,” he also shared.

The actress also weighed in on how women in cinema are also often portrayed as s** symbols on several occasions. He added, “Even today, some songs and the way they are shot are indicative of women.” However, due to the interview she also shared that things are slowly changing in the industry, adding that, “In the past, women were always considered symbols only.On the work front, the actress last appeared on the big screen in ‘Koi Jaane Na’ in 2021. She also worked in the series ‘Life Hill Gayi’ in 2024. Apart from being an actress, Govitrikar is also a licensed doctor and psychologist, and works as a model.
