Naseeruddin Shah has raised questions as to why Bollywood actors have remained silent on the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party protests in New Delhi. In a recent interview, the veteran actor slammed them, likening their silence to a dog holding a bone in its mouth.

“They do it when their conscience tells them. There is a saying: a dog with a bone in its mouth cannot howl. When the bone comes out of their mouth, or it breaks their teeth, then they fart,” said Naseeruddin in The Wire, as quoted by The Indian Express.When asked if he thought people were taking advantage of others’ silence by choosing to suppress their own conscience, Shah replied, “Absolutely, yes.” He added, “But how long will they continue to do that? Only time will tell.”

Recently, Shah posted a video statement on social media, extending his support to the protesters. “I want to say two things to all of you. The first thing is that if an uneducated person leads this country, then his heart wants the whole country to be ignorant, incomprehensible, and ruthless like him. to teach,” he said.“I sympathize with them. I am emotional, and at the same time, my blood boils watching how those goons torture young people who remind me of masked agents in America. Think about your own children. One day, you will also have to face the consequences of your actions,” added the actor.Shah continued to urge the students not to lose hope, saying, “There are many people among you. Keep fighting. I have always expected a lot from the youth of the country, and my trust in them has become stronger now. I also want to say to the Government, sab yaad rakha jayega (everyone will be remembered).
