In a note posted on Instagram, Muzammil clarified that the clip circulated as “new claims” was actually from an interview recorded more than a year ago, and added that he always spoke about Deepika with respect, even when old statements came back. He wrote, “The interview referred to and falsely titled “new claims” was recorded last year. Ambiguity, context, and respect for some of the topics discussed are often lost in the editing process and when quotes are viewed in isolation.“I have always tried to speak about people from my past with respect, and that remains unchanged.
