Brydon Carse has been added to the England squad for the remaining two ODIs of the three-match series against India after recovering from injury. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the inclusion of the 30-year-old bowler on Tuesday, July 14, for the first ODI at Edgbaston. His return strengthens England’s threat ahead of the final two matches of the series.

Carse had been ruled out due to arm and elbow injuries while batting in the nets for Sunrisers Hyderabad before the start of IPL 2026. The setback kept him out for several months before he made his comeback.To assess his fitness for international cricket, the England selectors looked at his performance in the Vitality Blast, where he made three appearances for Durham. The call-up marks Carse’s first ODI squad selection since England’s tour of New Zealand in November 2025. The right-arm spinner has represented England in 30 ODIs, taking 34 wickets.Having regained fitness, Carse is now available for selection for the remaining matches of the series, with the second ODI scheduled in Cardiff on Thursday, July 16, followed by the final at Lord’s on Sunday, July 19.
