In their tribute, Haynes’ family described a man of extraordinary character and compassion. “He leaves behind his devoted wife Fay, his daughter Brooke, his son Noah, a loving family, and a wonderful circle of friends spread across the globe,” the family’s statement read. They described him as someone who “made people feel welcome from the moment they met him,” who would “cross countries to help a friend,” and who was “a protector. A teacher. A prankster. A giant in every sense of the word, with an even bigger heart.”The family’s tribute included reflections from those who knew him personally. “One friend wrote that ‘the world was robbed of that wonderful thing … a truly good man,'” the statement said, with another person saying his “greatest gift was his humanity.”The family explained that the funds raised through their campaign will support two goals. “to ensure Mason gets the send-off he deserves – a celebration of a life that touched so many people,” and “to help with some of the immediate financial pressures that inevitably follow such a sudden and devastating loss” for his immediate family. In addition, Trojan Security UK, the security company Haynes works for, shared its own tribute on social media on July 6.
