The image was widely circulated on X (formerly Twitter), Reddit and other platforms, leading many users to believe that the actor was talking about Wangchuk’s ongoing hunger strike.The viral screenshot shows Deepika appearing again on a photo of Wangchuk with the message, “He’s fasting. We’re scrolling.” It also gives the following words to the actor:“Why is nobody talking about this? We are living in the darkest hour of democracy.”He further added, “No matter how many films are made to glorify a failed leader, the reality remains unchanged.”The alleged post quickly triggered an online debate, with many believing that the ‘Padmaavat’ actor expressed support for Wangchuk before deleting the Story.
What does the verification show?

Sonam Wangchuk’s protest continues
Meanwhile, Sonam Wangchuk remains on an indefinite hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The activist continued his protest in support of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) agitation over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and other irregularities related to the examination.As concerns over his health grew, many members of the film fraternity publicly expressed solidarity with Wangchuk.
