Sunny Deol reveals that playing Hanuman in: Nitesh Tiwari‘Ramayana’ has a great sense of responsibility. Speaking at a promotional event for the film at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on July 18, the actor shared that he has only completed a small portion of his work so far, with a long road ahead. The event in Delhi marked an important moment in the promotion of the two-part epic. Shot for IMAX, the first chapter of the film is scheduled to be released in 2026, with the final part coming in 2027.
Sunny Deol said that he still has a long way to go
The actor told everyone that he has just started working on ‘Ramayana’ and there is still a lot to do before he can grasp the role. “To tell you the truth, I have done very little in the film so far. I still have a long way to go,” he said. For Sunny, the sheer scale of the film was only part of the challenge. He said that ‘Ramayana’ means a lot to the people of India, which makes playing one of his most loved characters a bigger responsibility than a normal film role. He also thanked the makers for choosing him for the part, saying, “I am grateful that I got an opportunity to play Hanuman ji. I will do all possible efforts to portray him in the right way.”Deol made it clear that this role was not simple. He points out that Hanuman cannot be translated into physical strength alone. Character consists of qualities that seem to contradict each other. great power with humility, courage with innocence, and strength balanced with deep devotion. “It’s not easy to play Hanuman ji,” says Sunny. “But I know I’m going to enjoy it a lot. She’s playful, innocent and powerful. Everyone loved him, and above all, he was a devotee of Lord Ram.”
Sunny Deol seeks the audience’s blessings
The actor also admitted that public speaking is not something that comes easily to him. When he finished talking about Hanuman, he confessed that facing such a large crowd scared him. However, he took the opportunity to ask the audience to support the team. “We need the blessings of all of you because we have got such a big project,” he said. Sunny also expressed his belief that Ramayana will connect with audiences across the country. “I firmly believe that every Indian will watch it,” he added.
