In the Decoding Quirks podcast, Imran points out that many men grow up thinking that wealth, success and material success guarantee happiness. When that promise fails, they feel directionless, making them susceptible to those who claim to have all the answers. Speaking specifically about Andrew Tate and people like him, Imran said, “In this, there are people who are coming to harm these people. Andrew Tate is probably one of the most famous of these. But there are men like this who prey on vulnerable men who are looking for male role models. They were looking for direction, and here came these people who said, I’ll tell you how. And they sell these men a simple fantasy of male power. Be strong, show women their place, and thus you become a man. And in this vulnerable space, the boys believe these narratives. “
Imran Khan credits his family for being a positive influence
Imran further revealed that these ideas never appealed to him because he grew up surrounded by people who modeled something completely different. He honored his mother, along with the men of his family, including his uncle Aamir Khanfor having a lasting influence on his world view. He said, “I give credit to my mother, and the men in my life, my father and stepfather, my uncles Mansoor and Aamir. All these men are positive male influences in my life. These are men who, themselves, respect women and teach me the same.
