Satyadev’s latest release ‘Rao Bahadur’ made its theatrical debut with a steady opening at the box office.The psychological drama collected Rs 1.40 crore in India net collection on its first day, according to Sacnilk. The movie was released on Friday and recorded its opening-day earnings from 883 screens across the country.Written, directed and edited by Venkatesh Maha, Rao Bahadur stars Satyadev in the title role. The film also features Vikas Muppala and Deepa Thomas in lead roles.

Worldwide gross crosses Rs 3 crore

Along with its domestic earnings, ‘Rao Bahadur’ collected Rs 1.50 crore in overseas gross collections on its opening day.This took the film’s total collection to Rs 3.11 crore after Day 1. Meanwhile, the gross collection in India stands at Rs 1.61 crore, while the net total in India remains at Rs 1.40 crore.

Night shows registered the best occupancy

The Telugu version of ‘Rao Bahadur’ recorded a total occupancy of 27.65% on its opening day.The film started the day with 19.00% occupancy in the morning shows. The number increased to 23.08% in the afternoon and further increased to 25.46% in the evening. The highest turnout came during the night shows, where the occupancy reached 38.08%.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana dominated the box office performance of the film on Day 1. The two states together generated Rs 1.45 crore in gross collection.Karnataka followed with Rs 13 lakhs while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 2 lakhs. The remaining regions added Rs 1 lakh, taking the film’s total Indian collection to Rs 1.61 crore.

A psychological mystery driven by memory and identity

‘Rao Bahadur’ follows the story of a man who belongs to the descendants of a famous royal family.
