“Jana Nayagan” was not a smooth journey. The film was initially scheduled for a Pongal release on January 9 but the release was delayed due to certification issues which led to the makers fighting legal battles in Madras High Court and the Supreme Court. The production was also hit with the leak of a full copy of the film on the internet months before its scheduled theatrical release. Despite the problem of piracy and legal obstacles, the makers continued, and the film finally landed in theaters with high expectations and huge fan support.
