New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a major recruitment drive as part of administrative reforms following leaks of NEET question papers and reported irregularities in other exams. The agency has laid off 47 officials and begun appointing senior and junior professionals to strengthen transparency, accountability and institutional capacity.The National Education Bureau, part of the Ministry of Education, has issued a job advertisement for four general managers in key functional areas. Apart from this, it has also recruited 16 young professionals through UPSC’s Pratibha Setu portal for the first time. This exercise marked the beginning of the exercise in accordance with K. Radhakrishnan.Four general managers oversee key functionsThe General Manager of Assessment Research, Development and Psychometrics will oversee question bank development, test standardization, equivalence and calibration processes, Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) and artificial intelligence-based assessment systems.The General Manager, Test Center Network Operations, will manage test centers across over 500 cities in India and selected international locations. Responsibilities include quality standards, proficiency planning, facilities for differently abled candidates, examination day arrangements and coordination with state and district administrations.The General Manager of Information Security will serve as NTA’s Chief Information Security Officer. The role includes ensuring compliance with cybersecurity protocols, Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, IT Act 2000, CERT-In guidelines and oversight of the 24×7 Security Operations Centre.Young professionals will be appointed through UPSC portalNTA will recruit 16 young professionals through UPSC Pratibha Setu portal, including 12 academic research posts, 2 legal research posts and 2 finance and accounting posts. More reforms planned based on expert committee recommendationsThe agency said further recruitment will be conducted based on the 10 functional verticals recommended by the expert committee. It also plans to establish a new team of subject matter experts and translators in the coming weeks.UPSC Pratibha Setu (formerly known as Public Disclosure Scheme) publishes details of candidates who passed the written examination but were not recommended after interview. Launched on August 20, 2018, the scheme covers candidates for Civil Service, Indian Forest Service, Central Armed Police Forces, Engineering Services, Integrated Geoscientist, CDS, Indian Economic Service, Indian Statistical Service and Integrated Medical Services examinations.
