In the past few months, clips from two old interviews have resurfaced online, with many users pointing out that the actor gave different explanations about where he went during the film’s climax schedule.In an interview, Jayaram said that he traveled to celebrate Diwali. On the other hand, he mentioned that he went to Sabarimala. The contrasting statements led to intense trolling against the actor on social media.
Jayaram says he doesn’t blame people
Talking to Vanitha about the issue, Jayaram accepted that he was wrong and explained that the passage of time made it difficult for him to remember the exact sequence of events.He said, “I don’t blame the people. I was wrong in what I said. The incident happened 15 to 20 years ago. Honestly, even I can’t remember it now. I honestly don’t remember whether I went to Madras or somewhere else. I even asked the people involved in that incident, and they didn’t remember either. I stayed there for about five or six days. This happened 15 to 20 years ago. Perhaps these memory losses come with age.“
Clarify its connection to: Tamil Nadu
Jayaram also opened up about his close association with Tamil Nadu. The actor explained that his family background naturally connects him to Kerala and Tamil Nadu.He said, “My father is from Palakkad and my mother is from Kumbakonam. My father works in Perumbavoor, so our family moved there. My grandfather is also from Perumbavoor. I was born, brought up and went to school there. But since my mother was not fluent in Malayalam, I always spoke to her in Tamil. Till the day she died, she was the only one I spoke to. Even now, I have many relatives there. I visit our family temple once a year. I didn’t do anything.”
Lived in Chennai for over three decades
Jayaram also pointed out that his professional journey eventually led him to settle in Chennai, where he lived for many years. According to the actor, that experience naturally became an important part of his identity.He explained, “I have been living in Madras (Chennai) for the past 32 years. I moved there because of my work and settled there. That is why I became a resident of Chennai. Our house in Perumbavoor is still there. But if someone asks me if I am from here or there, what will I say? There are so many people who work in Delhi, If someone works in Dubai in Delhi, If someone works in Delhi, Mumbai or works in Dubai. For decades, they can only say that they are from here in Delhi?”On the work front, Jayaram’s latest film is ‘Parimala and Co.’
