Govinda: It’s been a while since he was seen on the big screen, but the veteran actor has made his presence felt elsewhere, from his appearance in Kajol: and: Twinkle Khannaof talk show in his stint at The Kapil Sharma Show:and now as part of the trending reality show ‘Lock Upp’. With his popularity on the rise again, let’s go back to a throwback interview from 2021, where Govinda spoke candidly about his struggles in the industry and why he is now watching the remake of ‘Coolie No. 1′ as a misstep.
Govinda never speaks against others
When Govinda was asked about the remake of Coolie No 1, which did not do well at the box office, he shared his thoughts on how he does not speak ill of others. In a conversation with ETimes, Govinda said, “You don’t see me speaking against others. While others always want to talk about me, I never talk about their work or judge it because I respect everyone’s hard work and invest money. Some people from the fraternity treated me as well. My films didn’t get theaters and they wanted to destroy my career, which didn’t happen.
Govinda’s advice to his children
When asked about a piece of advice he gave to his children, Tina and Yashvardhan, Govinda said, “They should bide their time with grace and respect, but, at the same time, continue to do their work. Maybe I will be the person who gives them a platform, and they don’t need any big name to give them a chance. You know, during the lockdown, I remember people complaining to my mother that I don’t so.” and make investments. But he only said one thing to me, “I don’t care. Why don’t you ask God?” He advised me to go beyond family and relatives and help as many people as possible. People laugh at the way I live; they were surprised that I didn’t have many servants in my house and I did the cooking myself. I feel aapka bhagya hi aapke virodh ka mool karan hota hai (Your destiny is the cause of your difficulties). No one else can hinder your ability.”
Govinda’s family life with Sunita, Tina and Yashvardhan
Govinda and Sunita share almost four decades of marriage and are parents to two children, Tina and Yashvardhan. Tina made her Bollywood debut with Second Hand Husband in 2015, while Yashvardhan is currently gearing up to enter the film industry as an actor.
