Justin Bieber will bring his swag to the World Cup’s star-studded, Super Bowl-style halftime show, joining fellow headliners Madonna:, Shakira: and BTS, FIFA announced on Wednesday.

The official governing body of FIFA shared the news in a post that read, “Justin Bieber to co-headline first-ever FIFA World Cup™ Final Halftime Show with Madonna, Shakira and BTS!”

Justin also shared a big update in a video posted on his social media handle. Bieber also said in a statement, “The FIFA World Cup brought the world together in a way that no one else could. I am grateful to be a part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful to know that it has helped expand access to education for children around the world.”
Burn Boy joined the lineup:
Afrobeats star Burna Boy, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus – a choir of elementary school students based in Staten Island, New York – will also perform.Of all the shows, the addition of Burna Boy is especially important. He is one half of this year’s official song for the World Cup, “Dai Dai,” led by Shakira. The song is an eye on their musical scenes. Afrobeats and Latin rhythms, an undeniably global, multilingual pop track. In one verse, they named several of the world’s most famous soccer players and countries competing in this year’s World Cup. “Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia,” Shakira shouted. “Mexico, Japan, Korea, Netherlands.”“The FIFA World Cup is one of the few moments that truly brings the whole world together,” Burna Boy said in a statement. “Representing Africa in the first ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show is a privilege and a responsibility that I do not take for granted.”
About the FIFA World Cup Halftime Show:
The 11-minute halftime show, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will take place during the final outside New York on July 19. The show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which has raised USD 100 million to help children access education and soccer.And while the Super Bowl is famous for its halftime show, such shows are not common in soccer, with events such as the Champions League final featuring a pre-match concert.This year’s World Cup halftime show will also feature some characters from “Sesame Street,” as well as Muppets like Kermit and Miss Piggy.
