BMW Group India reported its best ever first-half sales performance, delivering 9,075 cars between January and June 2026. The luxury carmaker recorded 17 percent year-on-year growth in the period, while second-quarter sales also rose 17 percent to 4,507 units.A major contributor to the strong performance was the company’s EV electric vehicle portfolio. BMW Group India sold 2,359 EVs in the first six months of 2026, registering a growth of 78 percent year-on-year. The company said EVs accounted for 26 percent of its overall car sales during the period, meaning one in every four BMW Group cars delivered in India was electric. BMW also said it has the country’s leading luxury EV brand with a 69 percent market share in the segment.BMW Group India also plans to introduce 14 more products across its brands before the end of 2026.Demand for the company’s long-base models continued to grow, with sales growing by 24 percent year-on-year to 4,428 units. These models contributed to 52 percent of the company’s total sales during the first half of the year. Meanwhile, BMW and MINI SUVs recorded a 35 percent increase in sales to 5,926 units, accounting for 65 percent of overall volumes.MINI also performed strongly, recording 504 car sales in the first half of 2026, up 70 percent year-on-year.
