After losing the first two matches, Bangladesh will be hoping to salvage some pride, while Zimbabwe will be looking to complete a 3-0 series whitewash.
Miraz wants a positive change
Commenting on the decision to bat first, Miraz admitted that Bangladesh were disappointed with their performance in the previous match but insisted that the team has made progress.
“We’ll shoot first. The way we threw the ball in the last game, it’s a little disappointing, but that’s gone, and we’re thinking about the next game.”
The Bangladesh skipper stressed the importance of having a good batting relationship.
“I think we need unity in the top order and then at the back end. So we made a few mistakes, but we can focus on the positives and we already know how we have shown in the past. I think we didn’t hit well in the last game.”
Bangladesh made two changes to their playing XI, bringing in Mohammad Saifuddin and Tanvir Islam.
“We have two changes. Saifuddin is in. Tanvir is in,” Miraz added.
Raza is confident of completing the sweep
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has revealed that Richard Ngarava has been rested as part of the administration.
“Richard is fine. I think it’s one of the principles we have to manage our work. If you look at Richard’s history and the games he’s played, it was important to rest him. So we rested him today along with the other guys.”
Raza praised Zimbabwe’s performance in the tournament so far.
“Confidence is the mentality and the culture we have in the changing room. I think all these things add to what you see and what everyone else sees at the park. Everyone has a very good head, everyone feels confident, and today’s game is another opportunity for all of us to show our skills and try and close the series with 3-0”.
He also spoke about the problem of hitting the five pitches in Harare.
“I think that when playing at the Sports Club in the winter especially, I think against the new football, it is always very difficult. But I think the credit to our boys and from the first game. They did very well in the second half, and today I am confident that there will be more changes in the third. We learn on our feet, and today I think as much as it is difficult, but it is another chance to win in Harare.”
Zimbabwe also made three changes to the side.
“So we have Nyamhuri who has collected the ball, he is out. Yes, we are managing the work of the bowlers. Two seamers are coming, Nesto and Chivanga, and Wellington is coming as Nyamhuri’s replacement. So two seamers and a spinner will be added.”
Strong report
Harare Sports Club is expected to provide support to players and footballers.
“The surface looks good, but there’s a lot of grass there, and it’s been rolled up, and you can see that the color of the surface has changed because of the amount of rolling that’s gone in. But there’s thick, good grass.
