Vijay:The much-awaited final film of ‘Jana Nayagan,’ is all set to hit the theaters on July 24, and fans abroad are in for an exciting news. The film’s UK distributor has confirmed that ‘Jana Nayagan’ will be released in the United Kingdom with a 15 rating and without any cuts or modifications. The announcement promises that the audience will experience the film exactly how it was made. Interestingly, this is not the first time such a statement has been made. The distributor also announced an uncut UK release in January, when the film was originally scheduled to hit cinemas during Pongal, before it was delayed.
An uncut UK release has been reconfirmed after months of delay
The latest confirmation comes after ‘Jana Nayagan’ finally completed the lengthy certification process in India. Ahimsa Entertainment shared the update on social media, calling it “one last time” for fans to witness Vijay on the big screen in his last film. The post emphasized that the film will be released in UK cinemas “uncut” and “exactly as it was intended to be seen.” Fans quickly jumped on the announcement, many eager to see the uncut version. Many are also hoping that the same version will eventually be available on OTT after its theatrical run.
The Indian version was removed after the CBFC reform
Unlike the UK version, the Indian release went through several changes before receiving an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, which was initially slated for a Pongal release earlier this year, faced a lengthy certification process that delayed its release by nearly seven months. According to reports, the CBFC has made several audio-visual changes, including tweaking some dialogues, names and references connected to Vijay’s political identity. Finally, the makers made the necessary changes and got the go ahead for the theatrical release.

Directed by H Vinoth, ‘Jana Nayagan’ stars Vijay in the lead role, along with Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamita Baiju.
