The franchise cast of ‘Jurassic Park’ bid farewell to Sam Neal:
Jeff Goldblum, who was one of the original actors in the first three films, took to his Instagram account to share old photos of the cast from their days on set. He wrote in the caption, “The next great adventure begins. Love, always and forever (dinosaur emoji and two hearts emoji).”Laura Dern, who played the role of Dr. Ellie Sattler in the film also bid adieu to her dear friend and wrote, “Sam was my dearest lifelong friend… He showed me the depth of loyalty, protection, and love, always with the driest wit. He was a true and noble gentleman, wrapped in my dream leading man. I will love you forever, Dr Alan Grant.” He shared photos of the two of them over the years, reminiscing about his legacy and friendship.It was also followed by Ariana Richards, who played the main child actress in the first film. He shared old photos of the two of them, calling Neill a “friend and mentor.” He wrote, “Sam – you are more than a beautiful actor to work with – refined, thoughtful, a skill second to none – you are a teacher, protector, and most of all, friend.” Richards, now 46, was only 14 years old when she was with the actor.BD Wong, who worked with him in the early films, also shared his own tribute for the actor. Sharing a selfie of the two of them on his account, he added, “Some people really “stay with you,” because they share themselves freely, are comfortable in their own skin, have a lot of joy in their lives, no matter what they go through, well maybe of course it’s because of the way I know him, which is a little short and a little intense – *maybe* of all things, and it’s always thought, but I know it. He shared that the photo was taken on his birthday that year, and revealed that Neill was one of the reasons why the celebration, even in quarantine and a pandemic, was one of his most special. He ended his post by adding, “I tell you, he will be remembered very fondly and by many more than me. He was very generous! He was very happy to be alive, I feel. I think that’s the takeaway: for the rest of us to try to be there as often as possible, and very happy, before it ends.”Joseph Mazello, who described: Tim Murphy in the 1993 film, also uploaded a video to his account, talking about Neill’s death. He played the role of the second child actor in the film, and was 9 years old at the time. He talked about how happy he was about Neill’s cancer recovery, and prayed well for the actor’s recovery. He posted the video with the caption, “My initial, very raw reaction to the passing of Sam Neill @samneilltheprop who was only a better man than he was an actor. All my love and prayers go to you and your family. I will ALWAYS be your human piece of toast (white heart emoji).”Alessandro Nivola, who shared the screen with Neill in ‘Jurassic Park 3’ shared a photo of the two of them on his Instagram account and posted, “Goodbye my friend.” Linda Park Hannah also shared her thoughts and prayers for the actor, as she shared on screen in the third film of the franchise. He re-shared a post about his death in the stories section of his account and wrote, “RIP Sam, for today. The first great actor I ever worked with who was so kind to a newbie who forgot his lines. We did a pilot almost a decade ago and he was so kind and a quirky hippy at heart pure soul.”
‘Jurassic World. The cast of Dominion also arrived
Sam Neill returns to the series and reprises his role in ‘Jurassic World. Dominion’, starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the lead roles. The two actors also posted about Neill and remembered him shortly after the news of his death was shared online.Pratt took his stories and re-shared a post he made around the time ‘Dominion’ was released. She wrote, “Devastating to hear the news of Sam’s passing. It was a privilege to work with him. All the laughs and memories, I will cherish forever. He is a true legend. Keeping his family in my prayers (white heart emoji).”Howard also wrote an emotional letter about Neill, remembering him for his personality and the love he would give. He added, “Sam. When we were living together in that little bubble for Jurassic World Dominion, in a hotel seven minutes from the set, for four and a half months, I said that if there’s anyone to be with in a pandemic, I’m so glad it’s with you. I still am. Sam is exactly what you expect him to be. Funny, warm, wicked self-deprecation that happened to Al Grant.”He further shared that he has a zeal and passion for life, and is generally a good and wonderful person. “I’m so sad for the world today but especially for those who see him every day. He lights up every room he walks in and shines a light on the human experience. My heart goes out to his family and everyone who loved him. And it’s true, everyone saw. I love you, Sam. I miss you. The directors of “Jurassic Park” also shared their best wishes for Sam Neill and remembered him
Steven Spielberg, the creator of the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise, remembered the beloved actor and shared a statement with Variety. “Sam is a unique collaboration. It is a turn for him to play a character that acts as if the children are messy and smelly because it is the opposite of the loving father that he is to his children”, he said, further concluding his statement by adding, “We will always have our Jurassic family, and Sam will never be forgotten by us or by his many fans around the world.”“Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow also spoke about the late actor and recalled working with him on “Dominion”. He stated in a post on social media that, “Sam Neill was a deep soul and a beautiful person. He was a friend and colleague during a challenging time, and his strength gave us all strength. I will remember him for his peace, his love of wine, and for the calm assurance he brought to his characters.Sam Neill died on July 13, as his family confirmed in a post on social media. They confirmed the news that the 78-year-old actor passed away suddenly in Sydney; however, he was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his death.
