The loss affected him so much that he no longer found joy or purpose in pursuing a career in films. In search of relief, he left Mumbai and traveled to Rishikesh without any plans for his future. Talking about one of the most challenging periods of his life, the actor revealed in a conversation with Indian Express that his father’s death left him emotionally depressed. He shared, “I am suffering from severe illness. Doctors removed 15 liters of pus from my stomach and after recovery, my father disappeared. I started losing my life. So, I went to Rishikesh and started making omelettes at a dhaba near the banks of the Ganga. The dhaba owner told me that I had to wash 50 cups a day and I would get Rs 150.

The ‘Dhamaal 4’ actor also spoke about how he once thought he was about to give up on life during a serious health issue that almost changed his outlook on life. “I should have died,” he said. He added that the doctors warned his family that there is little chance of survival if the operation is not successful.Shortly after recovering from the surgery, his father died within days of his discharge from the hospital. Mishra remembers one of their last conversations that is still etched in his heart and mind. “I said to my father, ‘How can you have a three-day-old chicken?’ and he said to me, ‘Tumhari nasihat ki zaroorat nahihin Hai (I don’t need your advice).’ These are my father’s last words to me,” he shared. The grief is compounded when Mishra discovers a poignant note in his father’s diary after his death. He revealed that his father felt embarrassed after the actor lost his temper with fans outside a cinema hall while they were watching ‘Aloo Chaat’.
