She had previously revealed that she asked the director for a dance number and shot a big, high-energy scene with co-star Mahesh Babu.

‘Varanasi’, marking Chopra’s first Indian theatrical release since 2019’s ‘The Sky Is Pink’, will see her starring opposite Mahesh Babu in the lead role as Rudhra. He will also be seen donning a double role as Lord Rama for a rumored 20-minute sequence in the film which is set to depict the epic. Ramayana: WARMalayalam star: Prithviraj Sukumaran Plays the film’s main antagonist, Kumbha, who is described as “dangerous with no limits in his mentality.” According to the report, Chopra’s Mandakini finds herself caught between the two central male characters as the story unfolds.

Although the actor has remained largely silent about the project and his role in the film, he recently offered a small tease. During an appearance on the ‘Hey Jonas’ podcast, the husband hosted: Nick Jonas: and his brothers Kevin and Joe, Priyanka shared, “I’ve been working on it for about 14 months now. But SS Rajamouli is known to take that kind of time to make movies. He called me for this movie, and this epic adventure around the world and at the right time. It’s a minute, but I’m excited about it. I’ve done a lot of amazing slow-motion jumps in everything I can do with it.”

Varanasi marks Rajamouli’s first original feature since the worldwide success of ‘RRR’. The filmmaker’s latest venture is described as “an epic, action-adventure that spans thousands of years from ancient civilizations to the present day across multiple continents, with characters traversing Antarctica, Africa, and the holy city of Varanasi itself.”The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027.
