Music composer: Amaal Mallik: launched a scathing attack on the composer-singer Tanishk Bagchi accused him of copying music, taking credit for other people’s work and mistreating female singers. This is after Bagchi accused YRF of not paying his dues after ‘Saiyaara’. Although Amaal did not mention Bagchi in his posts, he repeatedly called him “Mr Remix & Destroyer of Originals” and later shared a photo of Bagchi while calling him the “Zazooo of the music industry,” saying he “destroys lives.”“The outburst on social media took place shortly after Bagchi admitted that he had not received the remaining royalty payments for the song Saiyaara. Phir mujhe har saal call karke, ya mere manager @mourjo ke saamne mera bhai banne ka dhong kyu karta hai re tu (Brother, you have earned a lot of money from the label that you spend in all the free places. to be my brother every year—on phone calls or in front of my manager)?Amaal also alleges that Bagchi secured Saiyaara by taking someone else’s composition. Talking about the film, he wrote, “If I tell how you wrapped the film #Saiyaara, and stole the song right under the nose of Faheem Abdullah and Arsalan Nizami to make. Mohit Suri take you to the film, then you will know (sic).”The composer went on to make serious allegations about Bagchi’s alleged behavior towards female singers and referred to a social media post which he claims was deleted after the intervention of filmmaker Mohit Suri.He wrote, “Should I mention what you have done to the female singers and their lives, Me too nahi, Me Three ho jaayega tujh par (This is not just a MeToo situation for you; it will escalate to MeThree) (sic).”Amaal further questioned Bagchi’s recent stance on royalty payments, saying that he had previously approached him for work due to financial difficulties. He alleged that despite being advised not to rely on recreated versions of songs like Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Masakali, Bagchi continued to do remakes to earn quick money. He further alleged that Saiyaara was removed from Humnawa Mere, adding that the singer Jubin Nautiyal and composer Rocky Khanna chose not to respond out of respect, especially since Nautiyal had sung Barbaad for the film and had previously collaborated with Raataan Lambiyan.Amaal also alleged that Bagchi always spoke negatively about Bhushan Kumar and T-Series. His latest remarks come amid his recent claims that paid PR campaigns are being orchestrated against him and against the recreated version of Yeh Awarapan, which he composed for Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film Awarapan 2.At the time of writing, Tanishk Bagchi has not responded publicly to Amaal Mallik’s latest allegations.
