Sunny Deol is gearing up for another major release of the historical drama ‘Batwara 1947’. After marking his comeback with the OTT courtroom drama ‘Ikka’, the actor will next be seen headlining the much-anticipated Partition-era film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions. On July 13, the makers officially announced that the film will hit theaters on August 14, 2026, a date that coincides with the eve of India’s Independence Day and carries a deep emotional meaning for the story.Along with the release announcement, the team also dropped a unique teaser and a new poster, offering viewers a glimpse of the film’s emotional and historical backdrop.The newly released teaser symbolically captures the pain and strength associated with the Partition of 1947. It shows an idol of Lord Krishna illuminated by a glowing diya, set against images representing the division of India and Pakistan. Sharing the poster on social media, the makers wrote, “His biggest battle was not for survival. It was for humanity. According to reports, ‘Batwara 1947’ takes inspiration from Asghar Wajahat’s acclaimed play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai.
