Many online users trolled Bibin’s character in the movie, mocking it as a low-quality version of: Dulquer SalmaanThe character of ‘Charlie’.Bibin has now opened up about a heartfelt gesture from Dulquer Salmaan that left a lasting impression on him.During a recent interview with Reporter Business, Bibin recalled that he received a personal message from Dulquer while facing severe trolling on social media after the release of ‘Koodal’.According to Bibin, Dulquer came to encourage him when the online criticism of his performance increased.
‘Koodal’ has led to widespread comparisons to ‘Charlie’
Bibin explained that the trolling started after ‘Koodal’ started streaming. Many social media users have claimed that his character resembles Charlie, the much-loved character portrayed by Dulquer Salmaan in the 2015 film of the same name.
Dulquer Salmaan reached out with a personal message
Recalling the difficult phase, Bibin said that Dulquer personally contacted him and asked him not to be affected by online criticism.Bibin said, “DQ is a good person. When Koodal was released, I had to deal with a lot of trolling because people said I was trying to be like Charlie and failed. There were countless trolls. At that time, DQ sent me a message and told me not to take it to heart.”The actor said the message came when he needed encouragement and helped him deal with the negative environment of the film.
Dulquer Salmaan shares his own experience with trolls
Bibin added that Dulquer also disclosed the criticisms he encountered in the early years of his acting career. According to him, the actor shared his own experiences to reassure him that online trolling is something that many performers go through.Bibin added, “He told me that he also faced a lot of trolls. He talked about the criticism he received in the early days of his career. Just think about it—someone as busy as him took the time to send me a message to comfort me. That made me really happy.”
