actor: Dhyan Sreenivasan clarified his position on the ongoing discussions surrounding the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). After recently stating that he has no interest in becoming the president of the organization, Dhyan is now clarifying what he said. The actor said that leadership positions within AMMA cannot be changed overnight by public opinion. He also stressed that the incumbents should focus on solving the existing issues instead of stepping down in the middle of their tenure. Dhyan added that he himself hoped Shwetha Menonthe current president of AMMA, has completed his full three-year term.
Dhyan Sreenivasan said that there is a proper process
As reported by Asianet News, talking to the media about how his name came up in discussions about the AMMA presidency, Dhyan said, “AMMA is an organization with which my father has a deep emotional connection. I have only been a member for a few years. It was when Siddique Ikka became president that I attended an AMMA event for the first time. I have worked with many members of the organization and shared close relationships with them. But there is a difference between the personal relationship of the members and the organization itself. Naturally, when such issues arise within the organization, we also feel sad. Many people have proposed different solutions, and different groups have expressed different opinions. Some people mentioned my name, and the younger members also mentioned Aju. That’s it.”He said, “Being president is not as simple as people saying my name. There is a proper process. I can’t decide today and become president tomorrow. Currently, there is a president elected whose term has not yet ended. The term is three years.”Dhyan made it clear that his name being mentioned by some members should not be interpreted as an indication that he intends to contest for the post.
Dhyan Sreenivasan says that leaving when there are problems is not a solution
The actor also shared his views on how the current leadership will respond to the challenges facing the organization. He said, “Leaving when there are problems is not a solution. The right approach is to solve the issues and complete the term properly. Only after we think about what is next. My personal opinion is not important here. What is important is if the administration failed in their responsibilities. Personal issues are secondary. Do they distribute pensions on time? Do they continue to pay them every month? Did they help Sanjeevani? Do they provide insurance? If all these welfare measures continue unabated, then I believe the present committee should continue. The organization exists for the benefit of its members. If there is any failure in those responsibilities, then people can question it. Personal disputes are a different matter. Those issues are now in court. If, however, the General Body no longer has confidence in the current committee, then they must resign.”According to Dhyan, the performance of the committee should first be judged on whether it continues the welfare activities for the AMMA members.Dhyan also spoke in support of Shwetha Menon, saying she entered office with the intention of introducing positive changes. He said, “Personally, I believe that Shwetha chechi came with a sincere desire to bring many positive changes. The fact that a woman has become president in itself is a historic development. She really wants to do many good things. If there was no failure in the welfare activities that I mentioned earlier, then the issues between the members should have been resolved through discussion. Let them deal with the issues.”“If Shwetha chechi is still willing to continue working for the organization, then she should remain in office. A new committee will come after the three-year term. Interestingly, many of the people who elected the current committee are now against it. Whatever decision the General Body takes, we will support it. Personally, however, I want Shwetha chechi to complete her full term. He entered the role with a genuine intention to do well for the organization,” added Dhyan.
The focus should remain on the welfare of the members
Dhyan maintained that the organization should be evaluated on the basis of how effectively it maintains welfare initiatives such as pensions, financial assistance and insurance schemes. While acknowledging the controversies surrounding the association, the actor said the issues should be resolved through appropriate channels. He reiterated that the General Body has the final say on the future of the current leadership. For now, Dhyan has distanced himself from the speculation about taking over the AMMA presidency. On the work front, Dhyan Sreenivasan’s previous hit was ‘Detective Ujjwalan’.
