What trade analysts are saying about ‘Jana Nayagan’
In a conversation with ETimes, film trade analyst Komal Nahta shared his reaction to the film’s box office prospects. He said that Jana Nayagan “will do hit business in Tamil,” but added that the Hindi dubbed version is likely to do well. Nahta also agreed that the film served as a fitting send-off to Vijay’s acting career, as it marked his last outing on the big screen.As things stand the film lags behind Vijay’s last film, ‘The Greatest Of All Time’ or simply ‘GOAT’ which earned over Rs 44 crore on the opening day.Etimes also spoke to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who shared that he believes that ‘Jana Nayagan’ is expected to set a new “benchmark” as far as the opening of the film is concerned. When asked about the reception of the film in the North Indian market, he shared that it is too early to comment as the film is still on its first day in theatres. He added that a mid-week release is not the right parameter to judge the success of a film and that a clearer picture will emerge from Friday to.
