The famous musician died at the age of 59, after a long battle with cancer. On their Instagram account on Friday, the band shared the sad news with the world, saying, “It is with incredible sadness that we announce to our worldwide hardcore family the passing of our brother Lou Koller. The level of loss we feel at this time is overwhelming.”They even talk about their “beloved friend” and how much they will miss him. “This year would have marked the 40th anniversary of Sick of it All as a band, and Lou’s friendship, commitment and enthusiasm have always been constant over the years. We have lost a dear friend and an iconic frontman. Lou had the power to lift the spirits of everyone at our shows with a smile and a sarcastic comment, and we won over people from all over the world.” They also thank everyone who has helped Lou over the past two years and donated to his medical fund throughout. “You all helped Lou feel so special and so loved as he battled these past two years. Lou Koller’s musical journey began in 1986, when he, along with his brother, Pete Koller, formed Sick of It All with drummer Armand Majidi. After the release of their debut album, ‘Blood, Sweat and No Tears,’ in 1989, Sick of It All became one of the most popular hardcore and rock bands of the time, quickly finding new heights of success.
