The sudden illness of veteran actor Rajesh Sharma has spread anxiety in the film industry. The actor reportedly suffered a medical emergency at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad while shooting for Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Fauji,’ directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, and then traveled to Kolkata for treatment. Medical staff are keeping a close eye on him, and his condition has sparked a new discussion about workplace safety and emergency medical response on film sets.

AICWA has demanded a high-level investigation into Rajesh Sharma’s medical emergency

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has demanded an immediate, transparent, and high-level inquiry into the incident. As reported by IANS, the association has also sought the intervention of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for a detailed inquiry into the circumstances that led to the actor’s health deterioration. The AICWA questioned whether the set had proper emergency medical facilities and why the actor was not shifted to a top hospital in Hyderabad when his condition became critical during filming. The association also wants authorities to check whether mandatory safety, hygiene, and medical protocols are being followed by the production team.

The association seeks accountability and complete medical support

AICWA said the film industry has a legal and moral responsibility to provide a safe working environment for actors, technicians, and crew. The association said concerns related to hygiene, sanitation, and emergency health care have been repeatedly raised at many shooting locations. It also admits that many workers hesitate to speak openly about such issues for fear of losing their jobs. If any negligence is proved, AICWA has demanded accountability and asked the producers of ‘Fauji’ to bear the entire medical expenses of Rajesh Sharma and ensure that he gets the best medical treatment till he fully recovers.
