Ranbir Kapoor everyone is ready to attend the much awaited trailer launch of ‘Ramayana’, but the actor is likely to sport dark glasses for an unexpected reason. Just a few days before the big event in Delhi, Ranbir reportedly developed conjunctivitis. Despite the eye infection, the actor decided not to miss the launch and will attend the star-studded ceremony as scheduled.According to a source close to the actor, quoted by Hindustan Times, the infection was first contracted by his daughter Raha. Like many parents who nurse their children during such illnesses, Ranbir is believed to have contracted conjunctivitis from him. “Ranbir Kapoor has conjunctivitis. His daughter Raha was the first to get it, and like any doting father, Ranbir was infected too. “The source revealed that the actor remains committed to attending the event despite the inconvenience. “As Team Ramayana gets ready for the grand Pratham Sankalp at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi, RK, who is always known for keeping his commitments, may be seen wearing dark glasses during the event as a precaution,” added the source.The trailer for: Nitesh TiwariThe ambitious mythological epic is reportedly set to unveil on July 18 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, marking one of the biggest film events of the year.Director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra are expected to preside over the launch, with several cast members in attendance. However, it remains unclear whether Yash, who essays Ravana, and Sunny Deol, who plays Lord Hanuman, will join the celebrations.After the Delhi launch, the team will take ‘Ramayana’ to the global stage with a special presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23. The film will become only the second Indian title after ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ to be screened at the internationally renowned event. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Namit Malhotra are expected to represent the film there.Made on a reported budget of Rs 4,000 crore, ‘Ramayana’ is one of the most expensive and ambitious films ever mounted in Indian cinema. The project also boasts of a unique musical collaboration between AR Rahman and Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.The official SDCC listing offers a glimpse of the epic premise. “In an age of gods and kings, the fate of worlds hangs in the balance. Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice, and the greater good, must face Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance, powerful enough to shatter the universe.”Backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, ‘Ramayana’ is being developed as a two-part saga. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the first installment is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, while the concluding chapter is slated to hit theaters during Diwali 2027.
