In 2024, the Academy Award-winning actor stated that the poster continued to haunt him even after the film’s rousing success. “We were dancing, Emma and I, and I didn’t know it was going to be the movie poster. We were going to put our hands up, and I thought it was cool to put my hand up. [more flat] even though everyone told me it wasn’t cool. I’m sure it’s cooler,” he said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Calling the film ‘La La Hand,’ the actor said, “Now when I watch it, and I have to see it all the time, you know what’s so cool… [the intended pose]. It just kills the energy like that. I call it La La Hand.”
