According to Bollywood Hungama, the delay in Maatrubhumi’s release stems from concerns raised by the Ministry of Defense about some of the film’s content, including references to China. These issues remain unresolved to this day.

Even if the issues have been resolved, getting a prime release date is not easy, as many big-ticket projects in Indian cinema have already locked in big slots. Salman Khan, on the other hand, is not one to meddle in unnecessary box-office clashes with other films.

Reports suggest that Dussehra, which falls on Tuesday (October 20), could be an ideal release window for ‘Maatrubhumi’, which could give the Salman Khan film an advantage over a long five-day weekend. ‘Ramayana’ is expected to be preponed on October 30. After that, no major release is scheduled till the last week of November, which may also work in Maatrubhumi’s favour.

Some films are looking at the October 16 release

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao‘Raftaar’ and the Emraan Hashmi-Genelia Deshmukh starrer ‘Gunmaster G9’ are reportedly slated for an October 16 release, though the makers are yet to officially confirm the date.

Salman Khan may get a double release in 2027

According to reports, the issues will not be resolved soon, ‘Maatrubhumi’ will be pushed to next year. If this happens, two Salman Khan films will be released in 2027. He is currently shooting for Vamshi Paidipally’s untitled film, starring. Nayanthara as the female lead.
